Client: Cox Communications x DeBrain | Agency: Chemistry Creative
Contracted by Chemistry Creative for a live activation with Cox Communications and DeBrain, this interactive installation translated real-time biometric data into generative visuals across a large-format LED wall and a tablet interface. The experience centered on user input via a pulse sensor and questionnaire, reflecting each participant’s physical and emotional state through responsive visual systems.

Participants began by placing a finger on a custom pulse sensor embedded in the tablet. Their heart rate and responses triggered changes in color, movement, and particle behavior—both on the tablet and on the LED wall display. At the conclusion of the interaction, a photo was captured and integrated into a dynamic archive, accompanied by a generative chord diagram visualizing their responses alongside others’.

Technical Contributions

Front-End UX: Designed and developed a React-based tablet interface guiding users through biometric input, custom survey flow, and real-time photo capture.

Sensor Integration: Programmed an Arduino-driven pulse sensor pipeline, streaming heart rate data to both local and remote systems.

Live Communication System: Built a WebSocket infrastructure to synchronize data across devices and the LED system (powered by TouchDesigner).

Data Visualization: Created a generative chord diagram in D3.js to reflect collective user input over time, forming a responsive archive of engagement.
